K-9 Cart Photo Contest A Huge Success
Sharing photos and more...

We were so pleased to have a half dozen finalists in our most recent photo contest. The voting continued down to the wire on December 31, 2010 with the St. Bernard "Whiskey" in the snow in his wheelchair just barely pulling ahead of Pembroke Welsh Corgi "Llyr" to win.  We were sadden to hear of finalist Corgi Remy's passage

Remy, Greta, and Whiskey and others were featured on our K-9 Cart Co East exhibit at the North American Vet Conference as well as were prominent on our revamped K-9Cart.com website.  Look for more contest announcements coming your way this spring on our K-9 Cart forum

Featured Product: Foam-filled Wheels
Lightweight way to keep rolling...

dog wheels

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery.  Have you noticed other vendors using words like "K9 Cart" or "Canine Cart" in their advertisements or blogs?  We've also noticed other dog wheelchairs with our signature red wheels.  Like our foam straps and K9 EZ sling handheld harness,  our red wheels are custom-made for K-9 Cart Co East dog wheelchairs. Because our wheels are made of foam rather than a traditional inner tube, they are extremely lightweight and won't go flat. Often we are asked whether our tires do well on the trail in the woods,

in sand, or snow.  Well take a look at our dog wheelchair photo gallery and video gallery to see first hand their performance on all terrains.  Nonetheless, just like car tires, your dog wheelchair tires may need to be replaced when the tread is worn. With the revamped website, you can now purchase replacement wheels (whose price includes new axles) online, just Dog wheelchair wheels.

News & Events:
Happenings on the dog wheelchair front.

With the winter weather, traveling to events with our pets can be a bit harrowing.  Dr. Parkes' visit to North Carolina to see Savanna and Bella  - two dogs with cerebellar hypoplasia featured in our Fall newsletter - was postponed by weather to January 20, 2011. We are pleased to report that both dogs are doing well. Fortunately, both dogs have adjustable K-9Cart.com four-wheel dog wheelchairs. So a twist of an allen wrench and MacGyver style alterations to their head rests and voila the wheelchairs were adjusted to both growing puppies. Dr. Parkes predicts that with the appropriate physical therapy that both dogs will ultimately walk without their wheelchairs. Wouldn't that be a great ending?

With the weather conditions changing, we work hard to shift appointments for custom fittings in our Oxford, MD wheelchair shop as needed. Your patience over the past 2 months has been appreciated. We also will be saying a sad farewell to Ivy, who is moving to the West Coast, and has spoke to many on the phone or via email.  So expect that there may be some new voices on the phone in February.
